Teen Challenge and other organisations dedicated to helping the people of Samoa were invited to a workshop held by the Pacific Partnership programme on Thursday 31st of October. Director Pauline Elijah went along with counsellors Soloi Samuelu and Tui Afamasaga, pictured here, left to right.
The first speaker was Dr Efu Epa. pictured here on the far left, Dr Epa is one of the three doctors in the whole of Samoa who treats mental health. His experiences in the subject and the organisations knowledge of spiritual and traditional ways of life meant we were able to collaborate and learn how to better understand those suffering from mental illnesses which often lead to them being referred to the programme.
We then had ... speak to us on how to better cater to and protect women in dangerous environments, and how domestic abuse impacts everyone. We discussed how the church and the community could contribute to the protections
